Formed in 2006 when Rodrigo, Shine and Alex - all based in Mexico City - decided to invite DaveO, who was living in London at the time, to add some lyrics to the music they had been making as a trio.
Irish born DaveO, sent them an mp3 of suggested lyrics, and the band decided to invite him to move to Mexico and form SIMPLIFIRES.
In 2007 they released their EP titled "Simple" that got them great reviews and made their first single "Unsupervised" a major success in national radio.
Simplifires has played with bands such as Sigur Rós, Ratatat, Los Bunkers, and many others, becoming one of Mexico's best live act.
Their debut album "WHY PEOPLE MAKE COUNTRIES" (Intolerancia, 2008) has got them great reviews like:
